Singer/Songwriter Sponsors Christmas Art Contest for Kids
Song about New Christmas Character Sparks Imaginations only Children Can Provide
Louisville, KY- November, 7 2017
Memorable and original Christmas characters don't come along very often. Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and the Grinch have all been around for half a century or more. Try to think of an iconic character younger than those and it gets a bit more difficult. Attempting to address the dearth of modern-day equivalents, Carl Stuck has penned a song featuring a brand new Christmas personality and is asking kids for help in bringing him or her to life. An Elf Named Moe describes an elf who heads up the shipping department of Santa's shop putting tags on gifts (sometimes switching them for fun), loading them into Santa’s sack, and ultimately packing the sleigh. One can practically see the animated special in one’s own head.
And if the tune itself isn't enough to pique a listener’s interest, Stuck has also come up with a fun promotion to get that cartoon out of the listener's head and onto paper. He's sponsoring a free art contest for kids to draw their own image of what they think "Moe" looks like. Students can listen to the song for free at AnElfNamedMoe.com (it’s also available via iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and other music services). Kids aged 4 to 18 are eligible to submit their own artistic interpretation of Stuck's elf by posting a picture of their original art to Instagram using the hashtag #AnElfNamedMoe and following the AnElfNamedMoe Instagram account or by sending it directly to ArtContest@AnElfNamedMoe.com for a chance to win bragging rights and a cash prize for themselves and their favorite teacher.
Stuck, who resides just outside of Louisville, KY, is a veteran musician who has played guitar and sung all across the United States and has shared the stage with musicians as diverse as country supergroup Alabama's lead singer Randy Owen, and hard rocking Poison guitarist CC Deville among others. He currently performs mostly in and around his hometown 4-5 days a week.
The song is now available through all the usual digital outlets like iTunes, Spotify, and google play.
The contest promotion runs from November 1st through December 24th, 2017.
